The photo is of a fabricated & galvanized structure typical of the type of
fabrications produced by our sub-contact structural division.
This stand was designed by Millennium Engineers, Inc. in Virginia Beach,
Virginia for Hampton Roads Heating & Cooling, Inc. in Chesapeake. Parkway
Manufacturing Inc. built this stand from standard structural shapes then had it
trucked to Industrial Galvanizers in Petersburg Virginia for Hot Dip
Galvanizing.
The stand was designed to support a cooling chiller as a part of the 300 ton
chiller replacement for Building 420 at the Dam Neck Annex, Naval Air Station,
Oceana in Virginia Beach. The stand was installed by Hampton Roads Heating and
Cooling in late 2003.
The above photo is of a mezzanine & ladder assembly. Parkway Mfg. built and installed this assembly at one of the local Naval bases. In the photo is is shown almost completed and hanging from one of our portable gantry cranes. These assemblies are often used to extend and provide access to existing interior storage and office spaces.
The above photo shows the rear of the local WGNT, Channel 27 transmitter site. The tall galvanized structure was designed, built and installed by Parkway Mfg. This structure is used to provide protection for the equipment below it from falling ice. In colder weather ice will accumulate on the Television transmission towers and eventually break off and fall damaging anything in it's path.
All of the local TV stations use this and similar forms of ice protection. We have also manufactured similar types types of protection assemblies for WHRO - Channel 15, WTVZ - Channel 33 and WPXV - Channel 49. Some of the protection installed at the WHRO site was particularly challenging as it was install inside the transmitter station while the units were on-line
All the area's transmission facilities are located in the Driver area of Suffolk.
