Machinery Mechanic Trainee 

Full or part time

Requirements:

Someone just entering the job force that is handy with tools and wants to learn.  Dirty work but better for skill training than flipping burgers.
Job consists of using hand and power tools to clean heavy steel parts and material. Employee will also be required to perform general helper duties.

The job Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from work; must be able to lift 100 lb; applicant must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period; Applicant must be able to understand, English.

Full Time Helper 

Requirements:

The duties required for this job is just about what the Job Title says. You may be working in the shop but also may be working in the field. The Helpers at Parkway Mfg are required to be more that an extra set of hands. We want all our employees to be able to think and make good decisions.

The helpers job is an entry level position but one that still requires hard work and good common sense.

The job Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from work; must be able to lift 100 lb; applicant must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period; Applicant must be able to understand, English.

Estimator and Inside Sales

Normal hours: Mon. – Fri. 0800 – 1700 w/ 1 hour lunch.

This is a Salaried Position

Requirements:

The job applicant Must be able to read all types of drawings.  Past government experience helpful.  Some past supervisory experience helpful.  Applicant must be in good physical health.  Job candidate must furnish work clothes and shoes.  Successful candidate must be able to understand, read and write English.  Must have some shop experience. Past experience in estimating is required

Full Time Machinist  

 Requirements:

The job applicant must be a good general  machinist, No CNC (computer numerical control) experience needed. 

Chosen applicants will be given an appointment for test. You will need to be able to prove that you have sufficient skills needed to work as a Machinist. The tests will not only require you to operate a machine but to also think and pass a written test.

The job Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from work; must be able to lift 100 lb; applicant must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period; Applicant must be able to understand, English.

Full Time Fitter-Welder 

(Plant Work Only)

Requirements:

Job consists of fitting and welding heavy carbon steel fabrications. Must be able to weld stick and MIG all positions. Certification papers a plus. Basic blueprint reading required. All work is for heavy machinery fabrications. Fitter-Welders must be able to produce sound, clean and accurate weldments. Fit and weld test will be given. Chosen applicants will be given an appointment for test. 

The job Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from work; must be able to lift 100 lb; applicant must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period; Applicant must be able to understand, English.

Steel Yard Handyman & Saw Operator

The applicant will need to be able to drive a forklift and drive company vehicles. The applicant will also be required to operate our stock saw. 

The duties are making local deliveries and pickups. Cutting bar, pipe and structural stock for upcoming jobs. Unloading, checking and storing all incoming steel deliveries. Keeping the stock yard clean and orderly.

The job applicant must have a valid Virginia Driver’s license with positive points.  

Successful job application candidates must have reliable transportation to and from work.  To be Employed, must be able to lift 100 lb.  Job candidate must be capable of working with minimal supervision.  Employee must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period.  The successful candidate must be able to speak and understand English.

Full Time Fitter-Welder 

(Field Work)

Requirements:

Job consists of "site work" fabrication. The work will consist of small structural fabricating, ornamental iron work, dock leveler and other equipment installation & small repair work. There is no overnight work. Applicant must be able to weld stick and MIG all positions. Certification papers a plus. Basic blueprint reading required. Being able to communicate to & work with customers necessary. Fitter-Welders must be able to produce sound, clean and accurate weldments. Fit and weld test will be given. Chosen applicants will be given an appointment for test.

Job applicant must have valid driver's license with positive points & be able to drive a light truck. Job applicant must be able to lift 100 lb. Prospective Employee must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period. Successful job candidate must be able to understand, read, and write English.

General information about pay, hours and benefits

Starting Pay:  Job dependant and comparable to the prevailing wage in our area  - A favorable review after 30 days will determine your pay rate for the remainder of your anniversary year with Parkway Mfg. Co. There will be a review on each anniversary date. Paychecks weekly.

Normal hours: Mon. - Fri, 0700 - 1600 w/1hr Lunch.  Overtime:  Some required on weekdays & weekends. Paid after 40h  Holidays: Seven per year.

Vacation:  40h after 1yr, 80hr after 2yr, 120h after 5yr.

Sick Leave: 40h each Jan 1st. Prorated from end of probation date during 1st year of service. Available after 60 day probation.

Medical Insurance: Currently Optima, Available for family, company pays for employee only up to $50.00/month & increasing with seniority. Available after 30 day probation.
